Hi friends,
I’m raising funds to help my parents recover from the recent and unexpected flooding in Central Texas.
Their neighborhood in Burnet, TX was never considered a flood risk, and like so many others in the area, they didn’t have flood insurance. The floodwaters came without warning and caused significant damage to their one-story home.
Water swept through the house, damaging the floors, walls, furniture, and closets. Clothes, shoes, and many essentials were lost. It’s going to take a lot of repairs just to make the house livable again.
This isn’t just any house. It was the first home they ever owned. After many years of saving and sacrifice, they bought it 25 years ago and have lived there ever since, building a life full of love, hard work, and generosity.
Anyone who knows my parents knows how big their hearts are. Over the years, they’ve opened their home to many people who needed a safe place to stay, myself included. They’re always the first to offer help, never asking for anything in return. They are active in their church and deeply involved in their local community, constantly giving back in quiet, meaningful ways.
Now they’re the ones in need.
We’re hoping to raise $25,000 to help cover:
• Repairs to the flooring and walls
• Mold prevention and professional cleanup
• Replacement of basic furniture and household items
• Immediate needs during the recovery process
We’re incredibly grateful that everyone is physically okay. Our hearts go out to all who suffered devastating losses in this flood, and especially to the families mourning loved ones. Our prayers are with them during this unimaginably difficult time.
If you’re able to donate, it would mean the world to our family. And if you can’t give, sharing this with your community would be just as powerful.
Thank you for taking the time to read, for caring, and for helping two people who have always led with love.
With gratitude,
Christopher Carr
