On a stormy night, 100 mph winds and a thunderstorm tore through our neighborhood, leaving devastation in its wake. Our home was hit the hardest, with the fireplace and chimney ripped off, exposing the inside to the elements. The damage was so severe that our family was forced to leave our home and we are now displaced until further notice. It has been an overwhelming experience for all of us, especially our children, as we try to navigate the uncertainty and challenges that come with losing the place we call home.
