Our family of 7 recently experienced a devastating fire that destroyed our garage and shed. In the fire, we lost our family chickens and everything we had stored in those spaces. Nothing was salvageable, and this was our only storage area for important belongings and memories. The loss has been overwhelming, especially as we try to move forward during the holiday season.

Unfortunately, our renters insurance provided very minimal property damage coverage, leaving us with the difficult task of replacing many essential items on our own. Some things are simply irreplaceable, and the insurance will not cover most of what we lost. We are doing our best to stay strong, but the financial burden is heavy and unexpected.

I am usually not the person asking for help—I spend my time volunteering as a wrestling coach and serving with my local fire department as an exterior firefighter and EMT, and I am also employed full-time as an EMT. I am incredibly thankful that my family and animals were able to get out safely, and that our home only suffered exterior and smoke damage.
