On March 17, 2026, just a few days before my 57th birthday, my life and my family's lives changed dramatically. I was involved in a very bad car accident that totaled our only vehicle—our sole means of transportation. As a recent amputee with several other medical problems, getting to my many medical appointments is already a challenge. Our 8-year-old son also has a few medical issues, so reliable transportation is essential for our family.

Since the accident, it has been extremely difficult to get to my appointments, take our son to his, and even get him to and from school. I am on disability, and without a vehicle, our daily life has become much harder. The stress of not being able to meet our basic needs has been overwhelming, and we are struggling to keep up with bills and put food on the table.
