On Monday, November 23, our family was involved in an auto accident that has caused our lives to change suddenly. We were stopped in traffic downtown when we were rear-ended by an uninsured driver, which then pushed us into the car in front of us. It was incredibly scary for all of us but especially our 4 year old in the backseat who could not open the door due to vehicle damage from the crash. Our car was quickly determined to be a total loss.

Since this accident, we have found ourselves without a car, which has made it incredibly difficult to get to both our jobs, take our child to/from school, run errands, get to appointments, and take care of our basic needs. The accident also caused us to miss some work, making our financial situation even more challenging as we try to navigate insurance claims and the process of acquiring a new vehicle.

As if that wasn’t enough, just two days later, the day before Thanksgiving, our family experienced another heartbreaking loss—our beloved family cat, Sunny. We rescued Sunny and his four siblings from a wood pile when they were only a few weeks old. We bottle-fed them and found loving homes for all five, but Sunny’s home was always with us. He was only two years old and an incredibly valuable member of our family. His sudden and unexpected passing not only left us emotionally devastated in what has already been a difficult time, but has also left us with significant vet expenses and cremation costs as we tried everything we could to save him.

Terrakay and Amelia have always brought so much light and joy into the lives of those around them and have already been through so much, and your generosity can make a huge impact by helping them keep those beautiful smiles on their faces. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward helping us replace our car, cover the costs of our rental vehicle while we wait for our car to be delivered, get a new insurance policy, pay our bills, and cover the vet and cremation expenses for Sunny. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us regain some stability and peace of mind as we work to recover from these unexpected setbacks.

We are deeply grateful for any support you can offer. We both have a hard time asking for help and we know times are tough for everyone, especially with the holiday season in full swing.
