Help Our Family Recover After a Devastating Bomb Cyclone

Hi everyone,

It is with a heavy heart that we share some heartbreaking news. A powerful cyclone recently swept through Long Jetty, NSW, and the apartment we have been renting for the past 20 years was completely destroyed. My husband, our 10-year-old daughter, and I were deeply affected by this disaster.

The storm caused severe damage — the roof was blown off, leaving us exposed and vulnerable. Unfortunately, heavy rain, wind and projectiles debris entered our apartment, destroying most of our belongings, including clothing, furniture, and essential items. We are now faced with the daunting challenge of rebuilding our lives.

While it’s not something we would usually do, some kind friends have gently encouraged us to create a GoFundMe, so we’re reaching out to ask for your support.

We have no other family, and our savings have been exhausted. We urgently need help to cover the costs of emergency accommodation as we begin the process of recovery.

- Mental health support and counseling services for our daughter to help her process the trauma
