With a grateful heart, I’m asking for your help during one of the hardest moments Andrea’s family has ever faced. Just one week ago, Andrea traveled to Venezuela after eight years away to surprise her mom, Raquel, and her younger brother, Aaron. What was meant to be a joyful reunion turned into tragedy when two powerful earthquakes struck. For 36 terrifying hours, no one knew if my little sister Andrea was alive. Thanks to the prayers, love, and tireless support of the community, Andrea, Raquel, and Aaron were found safe. The kindness shown to their family will never be forgotten.

Andrea’s apartment is located in La Guaira, the area where most of the damage occurred and many residences collapsed. Her 8th floor apt home suffered severe structural damage and is no longer safe. They lost nearly everything and, because there is no insurance in Venezuela, everything is a total loss. Now, they need help securing safe housing and replacing basic necessities. The earthquakes also severely damaged our grandmother’s and family home in Caracas, where our family has gathered for more than 50 years. My entire childhood is there It holds generations of memories, celebrations, and love. Today, that home and a piece of our family’s history has been deeply affected.

Your support will help provide safe housing for Andrea's mom Raquel, and little brother Aaron, replace essential belongings lost in the earthquake, help repair our family home in Caracas, and give Andrea’s family hope as they rebuild their lives. We want to help Andrea’s family and mine before Andrea returns to Miami, and your generosity will make all the difference.

God has shown us His faithfulness through this incredible community. Thank you for being the hands and feet of His love during one of the most difficult moments of our lives. We are forever grateful, and we trust that, with God's grace, hope will continue to rise from the rubble.
May God richly bless you and your loved ones.

As someone who has dedicated my life to serving others, it is difficult not being there in person. My heart aches not only for my family, but for every family in Venezuela affected by this disaster. I am deeply grateful for all the first responders, volunteers, neighbors, churches, and humanitarian organizations who are already helping others. Their compassion is a beautiful reminder that God works through people every day.

With Love and Gratitude Martha Luna.
