On September 2nd, our family faced the unimaginable when my Aunt Deana and Uncle Jon’s home was completely destroyed in a fire. In just minutes, everything was gone — clothes, furniture, and every belonging that made their house a home.

But the loss is far deeper than material things. Inside that home were pieces of all of us: my Aunt Deana’s belongings, my Uncle Jon’s, my mom’s, my cousins Garrett, Aidan, and Sienna’s, my grandma’s treasures, and items from my Uncle Brian. The fire took with it childhood photos, keepsakes, and memories that connected generations of our family. These were the reminders of our lives together, of our childhoods, and of moments with loved ones we can never get back.

Jon, Deana, and their three kids are thankfully safe, but they are left with nothing. Now they face the heavy burden of starting over while carrying the heartbreak of losing irreplaceable memories and family history.
