Our family—my mom, her boyfriend, myself (I’m 24), my 7-year-old sister, and my 2-year-old brother who is legally blind—recently lost nearly everything in a devastating flood. The water destroyed our walls, flooring, carpets, furniture, doors, and electric sockets. All of our food spoiled, and my brother’s braille toys and brailler were ruined. We’re currently staying in a home lent to us by a kind restaurant owner, but we’re hoping to return to our own house by Monday, especially with school starting soon and my new job on the horizon.
The biggest obstacles we face are the mud and sludge surrounding our home, the risk of mold growing in the walls, and the unbearable heat inside. My brother has nothing left to play with, and our refrigerator is broken, leaving us unable to store food. My car was also totaled by the floodwaters. This home was built by my grandfather, and losing it has been heartbreaking, but the support from our community has given us hope that we can rebuild and return to normal.
Our priority is to make things feel normal again for the kids. Any help—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing our story—means the world to us. We are deeply grateful for any support as we work to restore our home and our lives.

All funds go directly to rebuilding things we lost and providing comfort and normalcy towards the two kids.
