This was not easy to share, but we are reaching out because our family truly needs support during this time.

In recent weeks, our family was made the difficult decision to leave Abu Dhabi due to instability in the region, returning to the United States with very little time to prepare.

We had built a life there over nearly a decade and did not anticipate leaving so suddenly. While it had been a place of stability for our family, recent events brought a level of uncertainty we were not prepared to navigate, and we made the decision to prioritize our family’s well-being.

We are now in Georgia, staying with family as we work to rebuild. Our son, August, is adjusting to a new school and environment, and we are doing everything we can to support him through this transition.

Due to this sudden relocation, I made the difficult decision to resign from my role effective April 30 after being required to return in person, despite my work being fully based with students in the U.S. and Canada. This has resulted in an unexpected loss of income.

At the same time, we are managing responsibilities across two countries. My husband, Thaddeus, will be traveling back and forth to Abu Dhabi for work, bringing ongoing travel and temporary housing costs. We are also navigating the financial impact of breaking our lease and closing out obligations in the UAE.

In addition, we are carrying a $30,000 loan taken on to provide essential medical care for my mother, including her total knee replacement and recovery while she was living with us in the UAE.

I am actively searching for new opportunities and exploring additional sources of income as we work to regain stability.

Altogether, this sudden transition has created a significant and immediate financial burden across two countries while we work to reestablish stability.

We have been incredibly blessed by the support of our family, and we are deeply grateful. As we navigate this unexpected season, we are reaching out to our broader community for support.

How Funds Will Be Used:

We want to be transparent about how these funds will support our family during this transition. Our goal is to create stability as we rebuild.

Funds raised will go toward:

• Education for August

Ensuring continuity in his schooling during this transition.

• International travel and temporary housing

Supporting Thaddeus’ travel between the U.S. and Abu Dhabi for work, along with temporary housing while abroad.

• Relocation-related expenses

Including costs associated with breaking our lease in Abu Dhabi and stabilizing our living situation.

• Medical-related financial obligations

Repayment of the $30,000 loan used for my mother’s medical care.

• Financial commitments in the UAE

Obligations that have been accelerated due to our departure.

• Short-term living expenses in the U.S.

Helping bridge the gap as we work to reestablish income.

• Transition support for a valued caregiver

If possible, we hope to provide a small financial gift to our nanny, who has cared for our family with dedication, as we part ways earlier than expected due to this transition.

We are committed to using these funds thoughtfully and responsibly to help our family regain stability.

Our Goal

Our immediate goal is to raise $50,000 to address the most urgent and time-sensitive expenses as we stabilize during this transition. While our total financial needs are greater, this initial goal allows us to begin rebuilding.
