On Tuesday, August 5th, my brother Hayden suffered a catastrophic injury in a terrible accident that has left him paralyzed from the waist down.

If you know Hayden, you know he’s the kind of person who lights up any room — the funniest, most charming, easygoing guy around. He’s the one cracking jokes, making friends out of strangers, and making life a little better just by being there.

And if you know our parents, you know they’re the first to show up when someone is in need. They’re the ones who sign up, say yes, raise their hands — every time. They’ve organized fundraisers from scratch, volunteered at every opportunity, made meals, given rides, taken care of others’ kids, and offered support in more ways than I can count.

Now, it’s our turn to ask for help — because this time, it’s our family that needs it.

Hayden has a long road ahead. He’ll need intensive residential rehabilitation, then outpatient therapy, nursing care, occupational therapy, and a range of medical equipment including a hospital bed, wheelchairs, and other essentials. Our home will also need major renovations to make it accessible and safe for Hayden’s new needs.

The costs are overwhelming — physically, emotionally, and financially. But with your help, we can make sure Hayden gets the care, dignity, and support he needs to begin this next chapter of life with hope and strength.
