Family Displaced After House Fire | Help Us Find Temporary Stability for the Holidays
On November 14, 2025 at about 2am, our lives were turned upside down.
A fire broke out in our home — right above my 6-year-old son Korbyn’s room. There were no working smoke detectors, just the sound of smoke crackling and debris falling. By the grace of God, Korbyn woke up and alerted us. “Mommy my ceiling is melting” He saved his own life — and the lives of his baby brother and his mama.
We are safe, but our home has been declared inhabitable until further notice. It may be weeks before we’re able to return, and the damage — especially to the kids’ rooms — is heartbreaking. Korbyn’s room is completely ruined, and he turns 7 years old in just two weeks.
We have no nearby family, and while my kids have temporary places to go, I do not. We’re staying in a hotel thanks to Red Cross support, but that’s only temporary. We’re trying to hold it all together with what little we have — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
What We Lost:
• Most of our clothes and bedding are smoke-damaged beyond use
• My children have very sensitive skin, so we can’t risk reusing contaminated items
• We’ve lost beds, essentials, and stability — right before the holidays
What We Need:
We’re asking for help, not because we expect it — but because we truly need it right now. Whether you donate, share, or simply keep us in your prayers, we are deeply grateful.
Monetary Donations: Will help with immediate essential items, housing & replacements.
Essentials Needed:
• Korbyn has graciously been blessed with a mattress & platform frame donation when we find new housing! He WILL still need bedding for full size bed he was donated.
• KB lost his glasses in fire too**
• A bed/bedding for mom
• A toddler bed or safe sleeping setup/bedding for Halo (1.5 years)
• Clothing for all of us
Clothing Sizes:
Korbyn (6, turning 7 on Nov. 30)
• Tops/Pants: 7/8
• Shoes: 13.5
Halo (1.5 years)
• Size: 2T/24 months
Mom (Cierra)

• Shoes: Women’s 8.5
We are so grateful to Red Cross, Douglass, and Salvation Army for stepping in. BoxDrop in Hannibal has also offered to donate a bed frame and mattress for Korbyn — such a blessing!
But the truth is — we are starting over. It’s not just a house. It’s the life we were building… and it’s now on pause.
To My Son:
Korbyn — you are the bravest boy I know.
You woke up, you spoke up, and you saved us.
I will never stop telling the world what a hero you are.
We’re holding onto hope, but we can’t do this alone.
Thank you for reading, for supporting, and for caring.
With love and gratitude,
Cierra, Korbyn, and Halo!
