Our family is facing possible eviction after our housing assistance unexpectedly ended without notice. We now have about a week to secure our housing or risk becoming homeless again.
My husband and I are parents of six children, three of whom currently live with us. All of our children are on the autism spectrum and have unique needs. At home with us are our energetic 3-year -old, our 18-year-old who is nonverbal and communicates in his own way, and our 22-year-old who is actively searching for work while trying to secure the support he needs to move forward.
My husband and I are both doing everything we can to stabilize our family. Due to my disability, I am unable to work and am currently in the process of applying for disability support. My husband has been applying for jobs, but his background has made finding employment more difficult. He is also working toward starting a bookkeeping business so he can provide steady income for our family, but we currently lack the funds to cover the startup costs like licensing and insurance.
Funds raised will go toward:
Covering rent to prevent eviction
Possible moving expenses if relocation becomes necessary
Securing stable housing for our family
Startup costs for my husband's bookkeeping business so we can work toward long-term stability
More than anything , this support will help keep our family together and allow our children to feel safe and secure during a very uncertain time.
Any support-whether through donation or simply sharing our story- helps us take one step closer to stability.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for caring about our family.
