Hello, my name is Heba, and I am Palestinian from Gaza residing in the UK. I am reaching out to you today to help my family evacuate from Gaza to safety in Egypt. 18 of my family members in Gaza desperately need to get to safety, including my aunt, my cousins, and eight little kids who are under 10 years old.

This is what my cousin Osama Abuabdou wrote:

"We have a lot of family members, including my aunt, her children, grandchild, and my cousin’s entire family. Everything was gone, even our family pets.

Nothing hurts more than seeing everything the family has built over the years destroyed. We lost everything in the war. Our family home, which held the most precious memories with family for years. When our family home in Gaza was completely destroyed, it broke everyone's hearts. It was everything our family had worked for over the years. Our ancestral home was also destroyed, as the family was displaced. Under fire and tank shells, my family was forced to flee for their lives. They are trapped in Rafah with nothing.

My family has been displaced several times from Gaza to Rafah. Now the whole family is on the streets, homeless. Women, men and children are at risk. They are in urgent need of basic humanitarian needs (food, medicine and shelter) and evacuation from the Gaza Strip. The priority and goal of the fundraiser is to evacuate all 18 family members from war-torn Gaza to Egypt.

Here's a breakdown of how the money will be spent:

A total of $74,000 (£60,000) is allocated to cover expenses associated with obtaining permits to leave Gaza, in addition to border crossing fees at Rafah on the Egypt-Gaza border. This amount is divided into $5,000 - $6,000 per person, including my younger brother's family, my sister's family, and my parents (10 person's * 5,000 = $50,000)

Of the remainder, an amount estimated at $2,000 will be needed to submit travel document applications and issue passports for all family members. Approximately $2,500 will be used to cover GoFundMe transaction fees (2.9% plus $0.30 per donation). The remainder will be needed for various money exchange and transfer fees

Every penny donated will be spent ensuring the family reaches safety in Egypt. I remain extremely grateful for your generous spirits and selfless helping hand.
