My family and I have always worked hard to provide for our children and create a loving home. Recently, we have faced a series of challenges that have left us struggling to stay afloat. My husband, who has worked for the same airline for nearly 20 years, was forced to take an unpaid leave of absence due to health issues. Although he has returned to work, he is in constant pain every day from the physical demands of his job.
With five children to care for and minimal support, I have tried to work outside the home, but I am often called back to care for our kids. The loss of my baby brother last year has been especially hard, as he was one of the few people who would help me with the children without hesitation. His absence has left a void in our lives and made our situation even more difficult.
We are now months behind on our mortgage and in danger of losing our home. Our family of seven is down to one small car, and we have used up our savings to make necessary repairs to the house we bought just last year. Despite these hardships, we are doing everything we can—taking on odd jobs and working to get our business off the ground. We are determined not to give up, but we need help to get back on our feet and keep our home.
Thank you so much for keeping the hope alive for us so that we can exhale, knowing we will have a home to raise our family and a vehicle to get everyone to work and school.
