Greetings
My family and I are an ordinary middle class hard working family. In, 2016 my husband and I along with our 10 day old son purchased our first home. A home we thought would be our dream home. But, immediately this dream home became a nightmare. We discovered large sink holes that surround our home on all 4 sides. Initially the builder attempted to repair the holes on 5 different occasions, but they reopened. Now 6.5 years later we are still fighting the builder in an arbitration trying to hold them accountable for the workmanship errors within the home and all of the sink holes that continuously reoccur. My family paid the initial arbitration cost to initiate the case and now we have received an invoice which is due immediately for a large some we can't afford to pay on short notice. The total cost for arbitration is $14,400 however my family needs half to proceed with this legal battle. $7,200 for an arbitrator and engineer to review all of our evidence and hold this builder accountable.
Not only is our home sinking outside, but inside the floors are sinking, windows and archways are cracking, doors are falling off the hinges and pipes are receiving so much pressure that we have had to pay for plumbing issues out of pocket because insurance stated it was the sink holes that caused them.
This builder could care less about my family , yet due to their clause in the contracts we signed at closing they are stating arbitration is the only way to seek justice. They prolonged this case and provided a arbitrator at a very high cost of $400/hr to hinder our family from seeking justice. In fact they have allowed my now 6 & 5 year old to grow up without a yard to safely play and now a house that is a hazard inside. 5bd 3 full baths and yet only 1 bath, our boys bedroom, their playroom and the laundry room are currently without damages. They could care less that they have put my family through 6.5 years of mental anguish. All communication ceased when they acknowledged that the sink holes couldn't be repaired and yet all my family wanted initially was for them to relocate us. Please help my family continue this legal battle by donating what you can.
