Help Our Family Leave War-torn Gaza to Safety in Egypt
I am raising funds to help my family escape through the Rafah Crossing once it opens again. Our home was bombed, and we have lost beloved family members, friends, and neighbors. I want to give my wife and two sons, ages 15 and 11, the chance to live in safety and dignity.
The cost for civilians to leave Gaza through the Rafah border is $5,000 per person. I am humbly requesting this amount to cover the cost for myself, my wife Alaa A. Eissa, and my two children; Abdul Halim M. Eissa and Karim M. Eissa. While the border is currently closed, my only hope is to be ready to leave with my family as soon as it opens, Insha Allah.
My Story
My name is Mohammed A. Eissa, and I am 44 years old. I live with my wife, Alaa, and our two sons, Abdul Halim and Karim. We used to live in Rafah-Gaza Strip, near the Egyptian border. After evacuation orders on August 5, 2024, we fled to Deir Al Balah - Gaza Strip, where we have been staying in an apartment owned by other family members.
Life here has become unbearable. The famine and food shortages worsen every week. The daily bombings are difficult enough, but the lack of food has made this war much more difficult. The other concern is the shortage of medicines in hospitals and pharmacies, the poor health situation in Gaza, and the fear of the spread of epidemics.
In addition to hunger, our children have not had access to formal education in nearly two years. Schools have been destroyed or closed, leaving an entire generation of children without the opportunity to learn or dream of a better future. We worry about not being able to provide them with even the basics of education.
Weeks after fleeing Rafah, my brother and I returned to find our home reduced to rubble. The only way we recognized it was by a photograph of my late father and the broken tiles scattered in the debris.
I know that my family’s story is not unique—hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have lost everything. But as a father, I cannot give up. I must do everything possible to get my children out of this war zone so they can have a chance at life, education, and safety.
Please Help
I am asking, humbly and urgently, for your support. Your contribution will go directly toward the cost of evacuating my family through the Rafah Crossing. Even the smallest donation brings us closer to safety and hope. If for whatever reason we cannot leave from Gaza, these funds will be used for food, housing, and education for our children and family.
Please help me save my family
