**Update: with a heavy heart we inform you of our papi's passing. Papi passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on October 4, 2024. All future donations will go towards funeral expenses. Thank you all for your support!

We need our community's support:

On September 25, 2024, after an open heart-surgery, our dear papi (father), Ismael, had a catastrophic event that put him in a coma. Our papi is a strong warrior and has been fighting to recover. Our parents are givers and have never been great at asking for help. Over the last year our family has gone through a lot of hardship and through it all our parents still managed to support so many of our loved ones. We are hopeful for papi's recovery, but are calling on our community for support during this difficult time. This is why, on their behalf, we ask for your support.

A little bit about papi:

Anyone who knows papi, would describe him as active, joyful, and young at heart. He loves his family and his chickens "las ladies". He gardens daily and enjoys fixing-up houses. One of his greatest joys are his three grandsons and two granddaughters. He could often be found laying on the grass in his garden; enjoying the breeze and longing for retirement in Veracruz, Mexico with our mami.

Funds will support a loving family:

All funds will go to our mami to help her cover hospital and living expenses while papi recovers. If you're unable to make a large donation, don't fret, even the smallest donation would help towards our papi's fight towards rehabilitation. Our father's immense love and quirkiness has been felt by many and our hope is that he will wake up soon and personally thank everyone for their continued prayers and positive outlook.
