Hello, my name is Lenara, and I’m reaching out for help during a very difficult time for our family. We are a family from Ukraine currently living in Canada on temporary status. We have three children — ages 12, 11, and 18 months. Until recently, we worked hard and fully supported our family on our own. After a car accident in Canada, I needed emergency back surgery. Since then, I have been in recovery and rehabilitation from December through February. I am unable to lift, bend, or manage normal household tasks, and I need help at home as well as transportation to physiotherapy appointments. Because of my condition, my husband cannot work full-time. He is caring for me, our home, and our youngest child, who is often sick and needs to stay at home. With three children and only one reduced income, this has become an overwhelming challenge for our family. We have applied for assistance, but the process is very slow. In the meantime, we still need to pay rent, buy groceries, and cover our children’s basic needs. This fundraiser is our way of asking for support during my recovery, so we can get through this difficult period and regain stability.
