Oliver Quinn has made his arrival!! At 25 weeks 6 days, our sweet boy came into the world kicking and crying. He is beautiful. He had an extremely rough first morning and was put on a ventilator at 100% oxygen levels. Since that first morning he has continued to wean beautifully! We are over the moon excited and so filled with love. With all that love is a new level of fear we didn’t know existed though. Every day is scary and wonderful and overall a rollercoaster of emotions. Any love & well wishes for Ollie are more than appreciated! ❤️
We are pregnant again!
Our due date is in May, but due to many complications, I’ve been admitted into the hospital as baby could come at any moment.
When I was 9.5 weeks along I started bleeding extreme amounts. With the fact that we have lost an early pregnancy before, we assumed I was having another miscarriage. After a few hours in the ER and an ultrasound, we found that I had a Subchorionic Hemorrhage/Hematoma (basically a bruise between baby and my uterus). The bleeding continued on and on.
I went back to the ER with more bleeding than normal and pain at 17 weeks to eventually find out that they believe I have a partial placental abruption (where the placenta starts to detatch - we don’t want that until full term labor).
I’m sent home with an ultrasound set up with a high risk maternal fetal medicine office.
January 10th at 22 weeks and 3 days, I go in for my ultrasound for the doctor to tell me there is no amniotic fluid surrounding baby to protect him/her. Due to my bleeding, we are unsure of when my waters had broken which was a big cause for concern. I was immediately sent over to Abington Jefferson’s Labor and Delivery where they confirmed I have PPROM (Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes). They admitted me for heavy IV antibiotics for 48 hours as the risk of infection was extremely high. They discharged me for a few days to get my mind in order and get some things together as they wanted me back exactly one week from discharge.
Last night I came in having more bleeding with contractions. Thankfully I am not dilating and the contractions don’t seem to be putting baby in distress or hurting them.
I’m currently admitted until baby decides to make his/her arrival, which could be tonight or 6 weeks from now. Every day little one stays put the better, but we take it hour by hour.
We debated announcing with everything going on, but decided there’s no reason for all of our loved ones to not know about our sweet fighter babe and send them all their love. So whether it be prayer, healing energy, love, song or dance, send it to our little please! They should know the army they have behind them before they take their first breath ❤️
Due to me normally being a stay at home mom to our son, Matt, my partner has been home taking care of our child and the home. As well as the fact that I could go into emergency labor/surgery at any point. Between the regular bills and will be medical bills of both baby & having a long term hospital stay, I know we’re going to be in deep. Anything is appreciated ❤️
