My name is iuliia. I am a mother of four children and a psychotherapist. My husband is the primary provider for our family and a devoted, responsible father.

We have lived in the United States for three years and are in an active legal immigration process. We have followed all laws and submitted all required documents. Despite this, my husband was suddenly detained on December 26 and placed in immigration detention.

Since his detention, court hearings have been repeatedly postponed due to court backlog and scheduling issues. Each delay prolongs the uncertainty for our family and means more time that our children are without their father at home.

In one moment, I was left to carry everything alone — emotionally, financially, and practically.

We have already retained and paid for legal representation in immigration court. However, due to the continued delays and prolonged detention, we now need to pursue additional federal legal action, including filing a habeas corpus petition in federal court to request judicial review of my husband’s continued detention.

This requires hiring a separate legal team and covering significant upfront legal fees that were not part of our original agreement.

I am now supporting our family on one income while caring for four children and managing these urgent legal expenses.

Asking for help is incredibly difficult for me. I am usually the one supporting others through crisis in my work as a psychotherapist. But right now, my family is facing a situation we cannot manage alone.
