We are The Kind Rooted Family. Sometimes one simple question can open the door to something much bigger. I asked Josh, “Are you okay?” I never expected that question to lead to me sharing so much about my own family and what we have been walking through.

Like many families, we have been doing our best to keep going. We have been carrying things quietly, trying to hold everything together, and facing challenges that most people would never know just by looking at us.

Our family has walked through years of health struggles, disabilities, hospital stays, loss, financial strain, and seasons that have brought us to our knees. There have been moments when I truly didn’t know how we would keep going.

But God has been the reason we keep going.

Through every trial, our faith has carried us. I believe there is a reason God has kept me here, a reason our family has walked the road we have, and a purpose for the life He has given us. And time and time again, I have felt Him ask us to keep serving; to notice people, to give what we can, and to use what we’ve been through to love others a little better.

So that’s what we keep trying to do. I wasn’t looking for attention. I wasn’t asking anyone to fix everything. I was simply having an honest conversation. But Josh listened.

He took the time to hear our story, and that meant more to me than I can explain. Sometimes when life gets heavy, you become so focused on making it through the next day that you forget what it feels like to simply be seen. That conversation reminded me.

With our permission, our story is now being shared, and this GoFundMe was created for anyone who feels moved to help our family.

There isn’t one single thing that would make everything better. Life has so many needs; housing, food, transportation, bills, hospital/health needs for our children, unexpected expenses, and sometimes just the ability to breathe a little easier.

Any support we receive will help our family with the needs in front of us and give us a little more stability as we continue moving forward.

Every single act of kindness matters. And that truly is what our whole life is about. That’s our purpose.

Through Kind Rooted, our family has made it our mission to serve wherever we can. Even during our own difficult seasons, we continue giving, serving our community, helping families, supporting hospitals, going into schools, and looking for simple opportunities to remind people that they are seen. Because we know what it feels like to need someone to see you.

What I have learned through this experience is that kindness doesn’t always have to be something huge. Sometimes it is someone stopping long enough to listen. Sometimes it is a stranger choosing to care. Sometimes it is simply reminding another person, “I see you.”

To everyone who has taken the time to hear our story, share it, pray for us, encourage us, or help our family in any way—thank you.

More than anything, thank you for reminding us that we are not invisible and that we do not have to carry everything alone.

We have spent so much of our lives trying to be the ones who show up for others. Right now, we are incredibly humbled to be on the receiving end of that same kindness.

And no matter what comes next, we will keep trusting God, keep following where He leads, and keep doing everything we can to leave a little good behind.
