On a Saturday afternoon July 2nd, 2022 at 1:30 PM our family suffered an unexpected loss. Melvin Ureña, 19, was shot in the head causing the loss of his life during a shoot out that happened on 156th St and Melrose Ave. in the Bronx, NY.
Melvin and his father came to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic 4 years ago, searching and in hope of a better life. Suddenly, Maximo Ureña’s (Father of the deceased) dreams were shattered with the unexpected death of his younger son, leaving him hopeless and completely broken.
Our family sincerely is asking for your help, to help us give Melvin Ureña a proper burial, since financially, we are unable to cover the expenses of a funeral home and burial. The father of Melvin, Maximo Ureña is planning to fly Melvin Ureña to the Dominican Republic, where most of his family members will love to say there last goodbye to this young soul that has left our world, leaving us in a great amount of pain.
