Recently, my family and I have been hit with a series of life events that have left us emotionally and financially overwhelmed. It all started when my daughter was admitted to the ICU, an experience that shook me to my core. No parent is ever prepared for that kind of fear, and the medical costs that followed have been immense. While I was still trying to process that trauma, our beloved cat, who was truly a member of our family, began suffering from kidney failure. After multiple medical exams, kidney testing, and an emergency vet visit, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye. The grief from losing him was almost too much to bear.

Just as we were trying to cope with that loss, another tragedy struck. Our younger cat, Bob, managed to get out and was hit by a car. He was found injured in a neighbor’s backyard and rushed to a local vet hospital. Bob now has a fractured pelvic bone, a broken femur, and several other fractures on the rear end of his body. He needs emergency surgery to have a chance at recovery, but the cost is more than we can afford right now. The feeling of helplessness in that moment was overwhelming, and it’s been one emotional blow after another.

These events have taken a huge toll on me and my family. I’m doing my best to stay strong for my daughter, but inside I feel completely drained and scared of losing another pet I love. Getting help right now would lift an enormous weight off our shoulders and give Bob the chance to recover and come home.
