Everyone, I never thought I would be in this situation, but here is our story: In December 2023, I lost my job and was unemployed for 9 months. Seven months into that, our daughter also lost her job while working on her master's degree. We've kept the bills paid the best we could, but now we're in desperate need of help. I have a new job but took a substantial pay cut, but any pay is still better than the $0 I was getting while unemployed. Then I had to have emergency surgery on my eye for a tear in my retina. We need help to keep utilities on and the house payment made while I search for a 2nd job to make up for that shortfall. At 61, I never dreamed I would have to ask for help from anyone and everyone we know, nor did I plan on having to work 2 jobs to try to make ends meet.
