HELP OUR MOM DEFEAT COVID-19, AND HELP US BRING HER HOME!
Our beloved daddy went to heaven on Ester Sunday after a 6-days battle against COVID-19. There are no words that can describe the pain we feel for having lost him in such a short period of time as a result of an evil virus that has destroyed so many families, like ours, throughout the entire world. He was a healthy 81-year-old man with a young soul who loved God, his life, and especially his loving wife of almost 60 years. He never thought he was going to leave her alone, and his biggest concern was always her happiness and well-being. Today, our mommy is still in the hospital, in critical condition, battling for her life. At the same time, she mourns the death of her beloved husband, and her recovery from COVID-19 is at risk due to her broken heart. Money is quickly running out to cover her medical expenses, and her life is hanging on our ability to pay for doctors, nurses, medications, medical supplies and food in a place where the living conditions are extremely impoverished and medical care is only attainable for the very wealthy. With much humility, gratitude, and desperation, we ask any person who is capable and willing to help us save our mom’s life! Any donation, no matter how small, will help immensely. Nuestro amado papá se fue al cielo el Domingo de Resurreccion después de una batalla de 6 días contra COVID-19. No hay palabras que puedan describir el dolor que sentimos por haberlo perdido en tan poco tiempo como consecuencia de un virus maligno que ha destruido a tantas familias, como la nuestra, en el mundo entero. Era un hombre sano de 81 años con un alma joven que amaba a Dios, su vida, y especialmente a su esposa de casi 60 años. Nunca pensó que la iba a dejar sola en este mundo y su mayor preocupación siempre fue la felicidad de ella y su bienestar. Hoy, nuestra mamá está todavía en el hospital, en estado crítico, luchando por su vida. Al mismo tiempo llora la muerte de su esposo y su recuperación está en riesgo por tener su corazón roto por el duelo. El dinero se está agotando rápidamente para cubrir sus gastos médicos y su vida depende de nuestra capacidad para pagar médicos, enfermeras, medicamentos, suministros médicos y alimentos en un lugar del mundo donde las condiciones de vida son extremadamente pobres y la atención médica solo es alcanzable para los muy adinerados. Con mucha humildad, gratitud y desesperación, pedimos ayuda a todas aquellas personas que estén dispuestas a donar cualquier monto para salvar la vida de nuestra mama! HELP OUR ELDERLY PARENTS DEFEAT COVID-19, AND HELP US BRING THEM HOME!
Just like countless families around the world, our family has been affected by the Covid-19 Virus. A few days ago, our elderly parents both contracted Covid from a brief encounter with a neighbor, who was unaware she had been infected. Our parents have spent over a year quarantining in their small home, taking all the precautions possible to stay safe. They knew that their age and underlying medical conditions put them at a high risk for complications and death if they were to contract the virus. Unfortunately, despite all the safety measures taken, the virus found its way to them. In a matter of days, both parents began to show severe symptoms. Our elderly mother, who is a diabetic and suffers from severe depression and anxiety, is now in the hospital along with our father who had to be hospitalized one day before her, due to a significant decrease in oxygen levels and difficulty breathing. Aside from the obvious health threat, one of the biggest obstacles we are now facing is the fact that our parents live in a third-world country, where the living conditions are extremely impoverished and medical care is only attainable for the very wealthy. The family of a patient who is admitted to a hospital or medical clinic is expected to pay exaggerated amounts of money, and even source and deliver the medical supplies, medications, and food that are necessary to keep their loved one alive. We emptied our miniature savings and managed to scrounge up a little extra from our young adult children, who gave what they could as they have also been struck and financially affected by the pandemic, but that money is quickly running out. Our parents' lives are now hanging on our ability to find and purchase the necessary medical supplies, medications, and food in a socialist country that is corrupt and greedy, and where access to basic human necessities is determined by the size of your wallet. With much humility, gratitude, and desperation, we ask any person who is capable and willing to help us save our mom and dad's lives! Any donation, no matter how small, will help immensely. Al igual que innumerables familias en todo el mundo, nuestra familia se ha visto afectada por el virus Covid-19. Hace unos días, nuestros padres ancianos contrajeron Covid por un breve encuentro con una vecina, que no sabía que estaba infectada. Nuestros padres han pasado más de un año en cuarentena en su pequeña casa, tomando todas las precauciones posibles para mantenerse a salvo. Sabían que su edad y condiciones médicas subyacentes los ponían en alto riesgo de complicaciones y muerte si contraían el virus. Desafortunadamente, a pesar de todas las medidas de seguridad tomadas, el virus llegó hasta ellos. En cuestión de días, nuestros padres comenzaron a mostrar síntomas graves. Nuestra anciana madre, que es diabética y sufre de depresión severa y ansiedad, se encuentra ahora en el hospital junto con nuestro papá, quien tuvo que ser hospitalizado un día antes que ella, debido a una disminución significativa en los niveles de oxígeno y dificultad para respirar. Aparte de la obvia amenaza para la salud de ellos, uno de los mayores obstáculos que enfrentamos ahora es el hecho de que nuestros padres viven en un país del tercer mundo, donde las condiciones de vida son extremadamente empobrecidas y la atención médica solo es alcanzable para los muy ricos. Alli, se espera que la familia de un paciente que ingresa en un hospital o clínica pague cantidades exageradas de dinero e incluso obtenga y entregue los suministros médicos, medicamentos y alimentos necesarios para mantener vivo a su ser querido. Hemos vaciado nuestros pequeños ahorros y logramos obtener un poco más de nuestros hijos adultos, quienes dieron lo que pudieron, ya que también han sido golpeados y afectados financieramente por la pandemia, pero ese dinero se está agotando rápidamente. La vida de nuestros padres ahora depende de nuestra capacidad para encontrar y comprar los suministros médicos, medicamentos y alimentos necesarios en un país tercermundista que es corrupto y codicioso, y donde el acceso a las necesidades humanas básicas está determinado por el tamaño de tu billetera.
