Hello friends!
First of all we would like to thank you for all the calls, visits and prayers. For those asking what has happened, earlier this week, our dear friend Susan experienced a stroke due to a tear in an artery which resulted from a blood clot. Late last week, Susan was asked by some of her close friends to do a favor. Without hesitation, Susan agreed to help her friends as she has always done. Unfortunately though, Susan reportedly fell while doing said favor. This is likely the incident that set her stroke in motion. She had emergency surgery to remove the clot that had traveled to her brain on Thursday afternoon.
She has moved out of the ICU this afternoon and is now in her own room at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She is making slow but steady progress. However, we've been made aware of how serious the stroke is to Susan's health and that the recovery process could be a long one.
Please do not stop visiting and calling. We will keep a record of all visits, texts and calls and tell her everyone who has stopped by and made contact. I’m sure this will be encouraging in the weeks and months to come.
Because Susan just recently changed employers, she is experiencing a gap in insurance which is the purpose of this gofundme page! We'd love to remove this financial burden as much as possible while Susan takes steps towards recovery. As of right now we don't have a grasp on the specifics of the financial situation that this tragedy has caused but we imagine there will be a great deal of expenses that need to be taken care of. We would all really appreciate your help during this difficult time.
Susan has always been willing to lend a helping hand to her family, friends, and to others in need. Now let's help her during her time of need in her road to recovery.
Thank you and please keep your prayers and thoughts coming in her direction. By the grace of God she is still with us and by his hand she will see significant progress in recovery.
Love,
Her closest family and friends
