Support Rhiannon – A Loving Mom & Daycare Provider Recovering from a Serious Injury
What started as a normal morning quickly turned into a traumatic and life-changing accident for Rhiannon — a devoted mother, wife, and the heart behind Nannon’s Daycare.
After returning home from a family camping trip, Rhiannon went out to the camper to grab some clothes. As she stepped down, she missed a step and rolled her left ankle. In the same moment, she tried to catch herself with her right leg, but heard a loud snap.
With both legs suddenly injured, she had no way to stand or walk. She had to crawl into the house just to reach her phone and call her husband, Caleb, who had just left to bring their daughter, Adyson, home.
The result? Two broken ankles and a broken fibula.
According to her orthopedic surgeon, Rhiannon has a severe break in her right ankle, and the pressure from that break caused her fibula to fracture. The fibula isn’t essential for function in her case, so it may be left to heal on its own or removed if needed. Her left ankle is also broken, but should heal naturally without surgery.
Rhiannon will need surgery on her right leg, where plates will be placed in her ankle along with a rod inserted through the bone to support and stabilize it during healing. She is expected to be non-weight-bearing for at least six weeks.
This would be overwhelming for anyone — but especially for someone who runs a home daycare. Rhiannon is self-employed, and during this time, she will be unable to care for the children who attend Nannon’s Daycare, meaning her entire income is on pause. Caleb, her husband, works full-time as an Operator Specialist at CHS, but has had to take time off to care for their youngest daughter, McKenna, since they don’t have a backup childcare plan.
We are asking for your support to help them stay afloat while Rhiannon recovers — to ease the financial pressure of medical bills, lost income, and household expenses during these challenging weeks.
If you can donate, we are so grateful. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page — every bit of help matters.
Let’s come together to lift this family up and help Rhiannon get back on her feet — both literally and figuratively.
