Our Daddy, the Giver, is always willing to lend a helping hand. The provider, not just for our family, but for extended families, friends, and strangers. Him and our Mom was able to put through College all of us 6 siblings, including multiple people through their charity work. He sees value in people and their hard work and would always give opportunity to people, without asking for anything in return. Even if they mess up, even if he would be sacrificing himself.
Our Daddy was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (a form of cancer in the blood) in 2018. We were able to do the cycles of chemo, and done a stem cell transplant in 2019, all while he was still working and doing missionary work. Continued his medication until 2021. Unfortunately, last year He had to stop his medication for Cancer because of kidney problems. All their life savings gone because of the multiple chemo treatments, check ups and other medical expenses, then because of Covid he also had to stop working. And in the Philippines, that means no work no pay.
When He stopped the medication, the cancer relapsed. So we need to start the cycle of chemo again. His blood components became unstable; potassium, creatinine, rbc, wbc, platelet are very unstable as well. And just when we’re starting the cycle, our home became infected with Covid. This made everything worse. Our daddy’s oxygen dropped to 88 without the oxygen tank, his platelet and rbc worsened, days of having fever, coughs, and cold; these all lead us to confinement as instructed by his doctor “ER ASAP!”.
Our daddy already did a blood transfusion last January 21st, thanks to kindhearted donors! You truly save a life. Earlier during our video call with daddy, He’s able to sit down already which he wasn’t able to do for quite some time. He’s still in oxygen and a little dizzy but He’s already doing a little better than before.
Right now, we are waiting for the update on his lab if his blood components are stable, especially his platelets and rbc. His doctor is also looking at the possibility of stomach infection due to covid, so we’re really praying that this will be okay.
We are doing different fund raising efforts to raise money so he can continue his chemo, for any other medical expenses. We are still asking for your prayers for the healing and recovery of our Daddy (and mom who is also infected with covid). We hope that you pray for my Dad’s mind and body to be strengthen. Again, thank you to those who reached out and helped us in any possible way! Me and all of my siblings and respective spouse, nieces and nephew are grateful to all of you.
