Help Our Dad Willie With Expenses

Donation protected
On Thursday March 11 while our Dad was at work talking to a co-worker sometime in the late morning. He out of nowhere blacked out and fell. He attempted to get up several times and for some reason just was not able to.  Co-workers of his just told him to stay put that they were going to call an ambulance. When the ambulance arrived, they checked my dad's regular vitals and stated that everything looked good. He did not go to the hospital and was sent home to rest. My Mom insisted she stay home from work and my Dad insisted she go that he would be fine. Later that evening my Dad called our Mom to tell her that he had a strong abdomen pain and was unable to keep any food down. Our Mom left work and took him to the ER at St. Elizabeth. At the ER he was kept until about 1-2 am, given some Morphine for the pain. Many tests were run, but in the end came up with no Diagnosis and was sent home. In the following days my Dad continued to feel strong abdomen pains and was still unable to keep any food down. He contacted his PCP and was told to get an EKG, Colonoscopy, and Scope come Sunday. He went in on Sunday March 14 late morning to get tests done, he was told they could not help him and sent him to the St. Elizabeth ER. After running some tests, he was diagnosed with Ischemic Bowel. The Doctor told him he needed to have an emergency surgery. Before we knew it our Dad was taken by helicopter to St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. At St. Vincent he was taken into a 3-hour surgery.  The Doctor had to remove 60 cm of dead intestine from the jejunum and 80 cm from the ileum. Our Dad's surgical wound had not been entirely closed since Dr. needed to keep an eye on it. Doctor had informed us he was not very stable and that we had to be prepared for the worse. That by some miracle our Dad had made it this far.  After surgery our Dad remained on a vent and 2 pressers to control his BP along with other medications. On Monday March 15 when we were finally able to see him, we were told he was not stable but was not doing horrible either. On Tuesday March 16 we were told that he was more stable and would be taken back into surgery later that day. The Dr. was pleased with what he had seen, his intestines were connected again. Dr did say there was a very small part of the intestine that had died. He did not remove, but he put sutures to prevent leaking. Dr. said our Dad was stable and would continue to remain on the vent until his BP got under control. On March 17th the Dr. stated that our Dad was doing very well, and that he had been taken off one presser but was still needing to be on the other. Doctor said he would be taken back into Surgery on the afternoon of March 18th. We are now on Thursday morning of our Dad's surgery Doctor states our Dad is doing very well. The Dr.'s are hoping that in the surgery this afternoon where sutures were placed there is no leaking. If there is no leaking and all else looks good our Dad will finally be closed up and this will be his last surgery. God willing everything goes well he could also be taken off the vent! We still do not know the financial burden this will cause our parents. We can only begin to imagine with my dad out of work and mother as well as she will need to be home for his recovery. We understand with what is going on in the world we are all facing difficult times, but anything would help our parents. If unable to help with donations we would appreciate you share our Dad's story. More than anything we appreciate Prayers! As of now God has done a miracle in our father and we continue to pray for another!
