On December 1, 2025, our 75-year-old father was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in Barstow, CA, on Main Street. He was hit by a black Mustang and lost his left leg. Our dad is a retired U.S. Marine and retired truck driver who stayed active his entire life—doing yard work, helping our family, walking daily, and riding his bicycle. In February 2021, he finally bought his motorcycle and loved riding it. That independence ended suddenly due to a reckless, speeding young driver. He is a proud grandfather to two granddaughters (almost 13 and almost 1) and is heartbroken that he may never be able to chase after or play with them the way he once did. There were multiple witnesses, but no arrests were made, and due to the trauma, our dad has been recovering since the accident and cannot tell his side. We are still waiting on the official police report. He was taken to a hospital in Lancaster, CA and is now in rehabilitation in Palmdale, CA. He also has heart disease, diabetes, and had a triple bypass in 2022, making recovery extremely difficult. Funds raised will help cover medical bills, rehabilitation, prosthetic needs, legal assistance, and travel and lodging costs for family support.
