Over the past year and a half, Myron (husband, father and grandfather) has been battling with health issues with the diagnoses of myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease steaming from an active thymus gland.
Recently, we have learned that this same thymus gland has caused the growth of a large cancerous tumor (Thymoma) in his chest, which has collapsed his lung and is growing around the heart.
Due to the size and location of the tumor, we have learned that it cannot be removed, so the doctors have turned to trying an aggressive run of chemotherapy treatment in hopes to shrink the tumor.
His first treatment started in December and will continue into the new year.
