Hi, my name is Sherinne, and I’m the youngest of my dad’s five children. He’s the proud father of four daughters and one son, a loving husband of 31 years, and an amazing grandfather to his six beautiful grandchildren. My dad is the heart of our family, and we all love him deeply.
This last year, he began having issues with his stomach, and after many hospital visits and surgeries, our family received devastating news: our father has been diagnosed with a rare form of Stage 3 cancer.
To fight this illness and keep it from coming back, he’s currently undergoing an intense six-month chemotherapy treatment. The treatment is aggressive, and as a retiree with limited funds, the financial burden of hospital bills, surgeries, and now treatments has become overwhelming.
Jose—known to many as Polo—has always been a kind, loving man with a deep passion for baseball. One of his greatest joys is playing softball—something he’s done his entire life. The idea of missing a season this summer was heartbreaking for him, but he’s fully focused on his health, healing, and getting back to the game he loves!!

Hola, me llamo Sherinne y soy una de las cinco hijos de mi padre. Es el orgulloso padre de cuatro hijas y un hijo, un esposo amoroso de 31 años y un abuelo increíble para sus seis hermosos nietos. Mi padre es el corazón de nuestra familia, y todos lo amamos profundamente.
Este año pasado, comenzó a tener problemas con su estómago y después de muchas visitas al hospital y cirugías, la familia recibió noticias devastadoras: a nuestro padre le han diagnosticado una rara forma de cáncer en etapa 3.
Para combatir esta enfermedad y evitar que vuelva, actualmente se está sometiendo a un intenso tratamiento de quimioterapia de seis meses. El tratamiento es agresivo, y como jubilado con fondos limitados, la carga financiera de las facturas del hospital, las cirugías y ahora los tratamientos se ha vuelto abrumadora.
José, conocido por muchos como Polo, siempre ha sido un hombre amable y cariñoso con una profunda pasión por el béisbol. Una de sus mayores alegrías es jugar al softbol, algo que ha hecho toda su vida. La idea de perderse una temporada este verano fue desgarradora para él, ¡pero está totalmente centrado en su salud, curación y volver al juego que ama!
