Help Our Dad Heal- Support His Medical Fund

Twelve years ago, our dad (David Sutter) faced a life-changing accident that left us all terrified we might lose him. A person driving on the wrong side of the road hit him, causing devastating injuries. Through sheer strength and determination, he pulled through. But now, complications from that trauma have led to severe intestinal blockages, landing him back in the hospital—this time fighting through two major surgeries with no clear timeline for when he’ll be able to come home.

We’re raising funds to help cover his extensive medical bills and ongoing care so he can focus on healing without the added stress of overwhelming expenses.

Our dad is the heart of our family. He loves woodworking and carpentry, teaching his students on the Navajo reservation, spending time with his family, and even playing Fortnite with his oldest grandson. He’s a loving husband, an incredible father to three daughters, and a proud grandfather to three grandkids. As one of four brothers, he never misses a Saturday call to catch up with his siblings and parents—even with one brother all the way in Thailand!

This journey has been heartbreaking, and the financial burden is heavier than ever. After the accident 12 years ago, we were able to get his hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills covered through a settlement. But that settlement explicitly stated they would not cover any future expenses—even if they were caused by the original injuries. At the time, we had no choice but to accept it, and now, we’re left with nothing to help cover these ongoing medical costs. While he does have insurance, it won’t cover everything. Over two weeks in the hospital with no clear discharge date, we know there will be a mountain of medical bills waiting on the other side of this.

We don’t want finances to be the thing standing in the way of his recovery. Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to us. And if you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing our story would be just as valuable.
