Help our Dad get back on the road
Hello Friends, Family and New Friends. As most of you are aware, we lost our mother at Christmas 1-1/2 years ago. And, with the Covid scare, we were not able to have a funeral for her for extended family and friends as we had painstakingly planned. We were robbed of this closure. Then, about a year later, our father took the next step in his life. After he sold their home of 44 years and most of its contents, he bought a truck and RV and, after a rough start, headed out to do what he loves the most - fly fishing and being in the great outdoors for a couple of years. He started in West Yellowstone for several unsuccessful weeks (except for 2 great days) and moved on to Montana. Then, as most of you are NOT aware, he was robbed again, of sorts. He was headed to Billings MT when, for unknown reasons, his trailer caught fire and both the RV and his truck burned to the ground. All of his daily and worldly possessions, including our mother's urn, were destroyed in the fire. He was able to escape with his life, thank God, but with only his wallet, cell phone and the clothes on his back, literally. He is utterly devastated and insurance will only cover a very small amount of replacement value. His hearing aids and laptop will consume that amount. The truck/RV will be replaced, but all the contents need replacing. It's not just camping gear, it was his home-on-wheels. Even if he got an apartment, he would have to start from scratch. We are opening this GoFundMe page to help replace as many things as we can to get him back on the road again to continue his life adventure. Pots/pans, kitchenware, sheets, towels, all of his fishing gear, float tube, tools, clothes, shoes, etc. Imagine living in a small apartment - it all needs to be replaced. Granted, he is only replacing the bare necessities, but it is still overwhelmingly costly. I wish we could afford to buy it all for him, but we can't. Please know even the smallest amount will help him achieve this and it is greatly appreciated!! THANK YOU in advance for all of your kindness in words and deeds.
