Help Our Dad Fight Pancreatic Cancer

Please help our dad fight this battle...
On May 28th, our dad, Ron Wissinger, received the diagnosis of Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. He is receiving treatment at the Hillman Center in Shady Side located in Pittsburgh, PA, and just had his first treatment a few weeks ago. We were hopeful that he would qualify for a Whipple procedure to have the tumor removed, but because of the location, at this time that is not possible. He decided to take part in a clinical trial where they administer Chemo through a catheter and directly onto the tumor. We are hopeful that with Chemo & Radiation, the tumor will shrink off of the artery.
If you know Ron, you know he is an absolute powerhouse in all aspects of his life. He has been staying active every day since the diagnosis because he refuses to let this affect his everyday life. He was always, and still is an all-around amazing athlete and coach. He served our country in the military during the Vietnam War, and is a retired Corrections Officer of the Butler County Prison after 28 years of service.
He has been staying busy golfing, helping coach his grandson Brody`s baseball team, and spending time with family and friends. He is a member of The Butler County Sports Hall of Fame and The Pennsylvania Softball Hall of Fame because his work ethic has always been an indicator of his passion and performance. He is eager to get back to playing senior softball and help coach his grandson’s sporting events for years to come. We know without a doubt that with a lot of love, positive energy, prayers and support, he can overcome this and get back to doing all the things he enjoys most.
We don’t ever remember him asking for anything from anyone, but he has always been the first to do something for someone else. We know that some relief of the financial burden will help make this situation a lot less stressful, and we want to make this long road as stress-free as possible for him.
If you are unable to donate, please share this story and keep our loved one in your thoughts and prayers.
