Growing up, no matter how little we had, our dad made sure every birthday was celebrated. He had no vices. His only “habit” was loving us through hard work and staying home during his off days to clean(or even re-arrange) the house and cook for us. If we ever said we liked something, he'd find a way to buy it in bulk the next chance he got.

And now our dad, Fortunato "Jhun" Fabon, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 SMARCA4 sinonasal carcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer, with brain involvement and metastasis to the neck lymph nodes. According to our research, this illness has been strongly linked to long-term exposure to dust and chemicals, the very kind he faced daily as he oversaw construction sites for decades. He was just doing what he always did best: working hard for his family.

He set aside his own dreams. He never asked for anything. His only mission was to give us a better life.

And now, when it’s our turn to give back, we’re faced with overwhelming medical bills and limited options.

We want more time with him. We want to give him the life he never got to live - the peace and joy he always gave us.

***Update on Dad’s Condition as of Aug 31st***

We’d like to share an update regarding Dad’s health. Recently, his MRI results showed that the tumor has progressed further towards his brain. Because of this, our doctors have decided to change the treatment plan. Instead of going through an operation right away, he will first undergo chemotherapy induction.

The goal is to hopefully shrink the tumor and manage its growth before considering other steps. If all goes well, chemotherapy can begin this week or next.
