Help our Dad buy a new home after wildfires

Donation protected
As some of you may know, our Dad moved to the beautiful land of Northern California about 5 years ago to pursue a more simple, slow paced, and relaxed lifestyle. Aside from wanting to retire in the mountains, he had been struggling to recover physically and mentally from severe bodily injury that he obtained when he was hit by a drunk driver a few years earlier. Moving “off the grid”, as I like to say, is the change he felt he needed to start fresh and improve his quality of life. He saved up for years, found his dream land on Lake Berryessa, started out living in an trailer, and began a new way of life for himself, his girlfriend (Andrea)...and their 4 dogs. Recently, they were able to place a new (very cute) tiny house on their property. When they headed off to California, they didn’t have much, but they left for California with what they had. While it has been hard not being able to see our Dad as much, we know that his quality of life has improved immensely since making this move. He reminds us on a weekly basis how lucky he feels to be living in, what he called, paradise. For anyone who knows our Dad, it’s clear that his new way of life allowed him to grow into a happier and better version of himself.

Unfortunately, after surviving many of the previous wildfires in California over the past years, our Dad and Andrea lost their plot of paradise in a wildfire earlier this week. After evacuating, they were informed the following day that their home, ALL of their belongings, their car, and their land was completely burned and destroyed in the fire. Due to extenuating circumstances, their pending  homeowners insurance had not taken effect yet on their new tiny house, and therefore they have no way of getting reimbursement or covering costs for a new one.

We are asking for money to help our Dad and Andrea rebuild their entire lives from the ground up. The money we raise will go towards temporary housing and emergency needs, as well as replacing everything they lost in the fires. Our Dad has always been a very proud and hard working man, and he was not too keen on us asking for support on his behalf. Please know that we are asking for your help due to crisis and tragedy, and we appreciate your compassion and generosity during this hard time. They need help now, as they have lost everything, so please help our Dad and Andrea get back on their feet and back into a home.
