We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support. A few months ago, our dad was diagnosed with colon cancer. Out of respect for his privacy, we haven’t shared this news publicly until now. But as the reality sets in and doctors have begun emphasizing the urgency from him to begin treatment, we’re taking the step to reach out for help.

Right now our dad hasn’t started treatment. Not because he doesn’t want to fight, but because he’s afraid of the cost and time. His insurance doesn’t cover the care he needs and his job isn’t one you can just take off from. He and our mom depend entirely on his income to pay their bills and mortgage. The idea of stepping away from work feels terrifying for him, making him feel like he’d risk everything he’s worked for and built.

Our dad has spent his entire life working in the fields, following the lettuce season from California to Arizona. Wherever he’s needed, he goes. Even after long days of hard work, whether he was fixing things or building something, he would still show up with flowers and do whatever he could to support our family. He’s kept us grounded with his love and strength.

This diagnosis has shaken our family, but what hurts most is watching him hesitate to start treatment out of fear that his survival will come at the cost of stability. 

We’re launching this GoFundMe to lift that weight off his shoulders to make sure he can finally get the treatment he needs without losing his livelihood, his home, or his dignity. Every dollar will go directly toward medical costs, transportation, and helping our parents get through this without falling.
