Help our Walnut Elementary Crossing Guard!

John is a beloved crossing guard at Walnut Elementary, going above and beyond to make sure the students and families safely cross the busy streets on their way to and from school. He is always there-morning and afternoon- waving to familiar cars and directing traffic as he happily helps people cross. Serving Walnut Elementary is a family affair, as his sister Diana is also a crossing guard who works at the other intersection.

Recently, John's found himself in need of our help. His mother is on life support, his truck's transmission failed, and his other car is experiencing serious maintenance issues. When I approached him after school today, he almost broke down to tears when he reluctantly explained his situation. He doesn't know what to do because he can't afford his mother's hospital costs and car repair, but I assured him that our community loves him and will help him out. If you see John everyday, you know that he loves his job and loves helping people. Now it's our turn: Let's help him out this holiday season.
