Help Our Family/Community Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa ❤️
We are advocating with heavy hearts and are pleading for help following the catastrophic passage of Hurricane Melissa through Jamaica. Our family has been severely impacted and our loved ones are in immediate need of basic necessities including food, water, shelter repairs and electricity.
Our beloved family home in Flankers, Montego Bay, St. James, suffered major structural damage. The roof is compromised, several walls are cracked and fruit bearing trees are destroyed. This house is more than just bricks and mortar; it is the center of our lives and a safe haven for our family. Every dollar raised will be a critical lifeline, directly supporting two urgent needs:
1. Rebuilding Our Home: The primary goal is to rebuild and secure our family home. Funds will cover emergency repairs, replacement of the roof, structural reinforcement, and essential materials to make the house livable and safe again.
2. Community Relief & Support: Beyond our own needs, we are committed to helping our neighbors in Mandeville who have lost everything. A portion of the funds will be used to provide immediate, tangible relief to the most affected individuals in our community, including:
• Emergency Shelter: Purchasing tarps, tents, and temporary housing materials.
• Food & Water: Supplying non-perishable food, cooking oil and clean drinking water.
• Essential Supplies: Distributing vital items like hygiene products, first-aid kits, and generators.
No donation is too small—each contribution brings us one step closer to repairing our home and providing comfort to those who have lost so much. If you can't donate, please help us by sharing this GoFundMe with your network or feel free to contribute to our clothes/food drive. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, compassion, and generosity during this critical time.
From our family, with love. One love.
