Help our cat Rascal get his life saving surgery!

Hello! This is our cat Rascal. Back in 2020 we adopted Rascal and his brother Piglet from the RSPCA after he was abandoned at just 1 week old. The moment we got him, Rascal and I instantly clicked. He’s always looking to me for cuddles or a fuss and every morning I wake up with him snuggled by my side.

However, Rascal is an outdoor cat. He’s always chasing creatures and climbing trees. A couple of weeks ago, Rascal came home limping and could not put any weight on one of his back legs. An X-ray confirmed that he had badly dislocated his ankle and torn the surrounding ligaments. The recommended treatment for the dislocation was specialist surgery, costing upwards of £5000.

Unfortunately, after looking into it, our insurance is only covering the cost of the X-rays; the specialist surgery just isn't an option for us.

The vet has suggested an alternative option would be to amputate his leg and told us that because Rascal is so young, he is likely to be able to live a full and happy life even with only 3 legs. This operation will still cost around £1500. I have decided to try and raise as much as I can to put towards the cost of this operation. I will be walking around Virginia Water Lake, and to make this even more of a challenge for me, I will be doing this tied to my annoying little brother, Toby! (think sports day 3-legged race!).

Rascal is my best friend and I’d be totally lost without him. I love him with all of my heart.
