Troy made me a Big Sis in 1971. Nine years after that we were a Sibling Party of Five! He's had his share of stitches in a mixture of accidents and was voted "most likely to break the first bone." I beat him to that title in some competition I wasn't trying to be part of.
This past Wednesday, April 21st, Troy was involved in a devastating motor vehicle accident. We are so blessed he is alive and is currently being treated in the hospital. He sustained a concussion, compression fracture in his back, broken femur - in three places, a broken ankle and several bones in his foot are broken.
Troy had two surgeries so far to place pins and metal plates in his leg and knee. He needed blood to make up for a low red blood cell count after his first ortho surgery. He will have reconstructive surgery on his foot next week. Troy is, understandably, in a lot of pain. Recovery will be slow and he won't be able to work for some time.
Troy's wife, Jennifer, and kids could really use our help. Jennifer and the kids are trying to relocate to make recovery easier, be closer to family who can help and reduce spending as much as possible. They are suddenly on a single income with mounting medical and other bills. Anything you can do to help is appreciated.
If you know our brother, then you know Troy is fun-loving, kind and generous. He would help anyone as long as it was in his power to do so. Please help him and his family now by any means you can.
Please donate, share this, give blood at your local blood bank, and of course, send your prayers and positive messages. Any or all of these are welcome.
Thank you in advance! With love,
Big Sis
