Help Our Brother Mohamed Rest In Peace

Donation protected
Greetings family, friends, and loved ones. This is Mohamed Kouyate's family. It is with a heavy heart that we inform you all of Mohamed Kouyate’s passing on Tuesday, July 7th, 2020. He passed away from Interstitial Lung Disease (Pulmonary Fibrosis) and he suffered with it for a very long time. But now with the grace of God, he is at peace. Mohamed was a very humble person who gave his all to whatever he placed his mind onto - including his community, job, and in providing for his family in the best way he could. He worked as a security guard at Mulligan Security Corporation for the past 12 years both on the lower level and basement of the world trade center plaza in different buildings where, unfortunately, the 9/11 toxic dust lingered around. As a result, he contracted Pulmonary Fibrosis, which can be caused by Silica dust, Asbestos fibers, and Hard metal dust. For many years, Mohamed was around constructions as the plaza developed into the sight we see now. This contributed to if not initiated his illness. Nonetheless, as Mohamed’s condition worsened, he was unable to work and as the breadwinner of the house, the family was left in a grave state both mentally and financially. However, he remained strong and always fought for the family. Towards the end, it became extremely difficult for the family to pay for living expenses and medical bills. From late 2019 to July 2020, Mohamed got more ill and thus was weaker, and he became incapacitated. He was unable to continue working and with no job and no income, he was unable to pay his bills, which inevitably piled up.

With your help and support, this fund will be utilized to help our family pay the bills. Before his passing, Mohamed was worried sick about his family and how they would fare after his passing. That’s the kind of man Mohamed always was. Even though he was in a severe condition, he was a man who put the needs of others before himself. With such a huge amount in our bills, our family is at risk of being sued by the collectors. Your support will mean the world to our family and will undoubtedly help Mohamed Kouyate’s soul rest in peace.

Thank you all and may God bless you!

Please stay safe and take care.

Sincerely,

The Kouyate Family
