As a hobby-writer I have written many stories in my life. And yet, this is the hardest one.

I am writing on behalf of my family, and for the most important person in our world right now: a joyful, curious, well outspoken, strong-willed ten year-old, child who is suddenly facing the fight of their life.

Just one month ago, life was filled with playground laughter, board games spread across the living room floor, bedtime stories, YouTube makeup tutorials, videos in foreign languages, and long, serious conversations about “what I want to be when I grow up.”

Today, that world feels very far away.

Now, our days revolve around hospital rooms, needles, medical terms we never wanted to learn, pain, fear, and a kind of uncertainty that no parent (or family) should ever have to carry.

Privacy and Transparency

To protect this child’s identity and dignity, and to shield them from the unintended consequences of classmates or acquaintances coming across this page, we are not sharing their name or face publicly. We hope you can understand this decision.

We understand that anonymity can raise questions. All required medical documentation and hospital diagnoses have been formally processed and submitted to the appropriate institutions. Transparency matters to us, and we are prepared to provide verification through proper and respectful channels if needed.

The Diagnosis:

Our little sunshine is fighting an aggressive form of osteosarcoma (a rare malignant bone cancer) that requires intensive and long-term treatment.

This type of cancer could not be treated in their homeland, N. Macedonia. The tumor is classified as high-grade and fast-spreading, doctors advised immediate treatment abroad at specialized centers.

Time and action is critical.

Since I am the only family member that they have abroad, she has been admitted to a specialized clinic in Munich - Germany ,

where we are concluding the final phase of the diagnostics (appointment for the PET/CT Scan next week, following MRI, Biopsy, X-Rays, and blood checks).

From what we know the treatment will follow three phases :

1. Roughly two months of intensive chemotherapy (waiting for an estimate)

2. Surgical removal of the tumor (current estimate €45.842 with a note that this is the first estimate and can change depending on the individual situation)

3. An additional six months of chemotherapy (waiting for an estimate)

So far the family has spent:

1.236 € for initial consultation and biopsy

3.553€ for the PET/CT scan

Plus additional costs for traveling to Germany and accommodation in Germany.

Why we need the money?

As a foreign patient in Germany, we are facing significant financial uncertainty. At this moment, we do not know what portion, if any, will be covered by the insurance in N. Macedonia. To avoid delays, our family is using all available private funds to pay the required amounts privately to ensure treatment can begin and continue without interruption. When dealing with a high-grade cancer, waiting is simply not an option.

The estimated total cost for the complete treatment and related hospital care is approximately €200,000. This estimate is based on discussions during the consultation following the biopsy results and on an additional preliminary offer from another hospital. We are currently awaiting the remaining official cost estimates as outlined above.. Thus, it is an overwhelming amount for our family. In case the final estimate differs I will inform the donors via the updates accordingly.

Because North Macedonia is not currently listed among GoFundMe’s supported countries, this fundraiser had to be created through a supported country, in our case, Germany since I have permanent residency there.

Due to how GoFoundMe works the money must be transferred to an account in the supported country. Thus, a separate dedicated account section (space on N26) has been created exclusively for this fundraiser to ensure complete separation from personal funds. Having said that, ALL DONATED FUNDS will be then transferred directly to the family or the hospital and used exclusively to pay for medical treatment and related expenses (such as accommodation in Munich until we obtain a permanent housing supported by Omnibus).

That is why we hope to obtain the help from the world. Myself, and my family always participate and donate when needed. We are honest and hard working people that right now are hoping that somehow can bring our little angel on her feet happy and healthy as every child should be.
