Help our boy Aslan fight for his health and return home.

Please help our sweet boy Aslan in his continued fight with his health. On 11/02, we noticed Aslan was lethargic and had a lack of appetite. We monitored him throughout the day, and his symptoms did not improve. We took him to VMC emergency clinic on 11/03, where they did X-rays and discovered a large anal gland abscess. They treated this, and he went home that same day, but unfortunately, he continued to worsen. We brought him to our regular vet the following day, where they ran more tests throughout the week, including additional X-rays and an ultrasound. By Wednesday, 11/06, we were told he was in congestive heart failure. They were able to get him out of heart failure, but his lack of appetite did not improve. On Thursday, he saw a cardiologist and was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and is considered stage C. On Friday, 11/08, he still refused food; we were able to get him a spot at Cornell Animal Hospital, where he still is today (11/09). Cornell admitted him through their ER and transferred him to their internal medicine unit. They will be keeping him throughout the weekend, running more of their own tests and imaging. Their plan is to transfer him to their soft tissue unit and take cell samples from the abscess to see if there is anything else going on. They will also be installing a feeding tube. These procedures require anesthesia, and he may not be a candidate because of his heart. They did install a tube in his nose for fluids and some nutrition at this time. He continues to fight to try and heal. He is at high risk because of his heart disease for sedation and anesthesia, and we are trying everything to lower these risks and go at his pace. This is requiring extended hospitalization and costs. We will do everything financially for our boy Aslan, and if you are able to consider a donation at any amount to help us and him, we would be extremely grateful. Or sharing his story with your friends and family. Thank you for taking the time to read his story. We rescued him as a stray, and we will keep fighting to get him back home and back to his perfect self where he belongs. At this time, his medical costs that we have paid already are just under $8,000 from his start at VMC ER, Stack Animal Hospital, and Cornell. We are expecting this amount to double. Any little bit helps. Thank you again. I will provide updates as I can. All funds are going to Aslan's continued hospitalization and care.❤️‍
