Help Our Beloved Teacher Get a New Kidney

My children and many other children from their school have been raving about their health teacher and all the fun facts they learn from her since day one of Timber Trails Elementary School. She also volunteered to be my children's assistant musical director and spends so much of her extra time helping mine and the other children find a safe place to express themselves and have fun. She has been there for my/our children. Now is the time to be there for her. Seven years ago, she went into kidney failure and received a miracle dual kidney and pancreas donor that saved her life. Well, as life happens, her donor kidney is now failing, and she is in need of another kidney transplant. As she prepares for surgeries, dialysis, and hopefully a transplant, we can ease her worry by donating anything to help her cause. Whether it is a few dollars or as much as you can, anything will go a long way in helping her in her journey!

The average wait time for a deceased donor is seven+ years! And a living donor lasts longer and has better function. Understandably, you may be afraid about surgery or what living with one kidney would mean for you. Here is some basic information about kidney donation:
- You only need one kidney to live a healthy, long life.
- Most donor surgery is done laparoscopically, meaning through tiny incisions.
- Recuperation is usually fairly quick, generally 2 weeks.
- The cost of evaluation and surgery is covered by the receiver's insurance.
