Dear Friends, Family, and Generous Supporters in Christ,
I am Minister Terry Parker and I have been faithfully preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ every week to a dedicated group of senior citizens at two local nursing homes. Many of these residents have found new hope, comfort, and joy through hearing the Word of God, praying together, and sharing in fellowship despite the challenges of aging and limited mobility.
Now, these precious souls have expressed a deep and sincere desire: they want to be baptized by immersion — as a public declaration of their faith and their new life in Christ.
As born-again Christians, these seniors have given their hearts to Jesus and long to obey His commandment to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins according to Acts 2:38. However, their physical limitations and the nursing home setting make traditional baptism in a church baptistry impossible.
That is why we are humbly asking for your support. We are raising $4800 to purchase a safe, portable baptismal pool that can be transported between both nursing homes. This special pool will allow me and nursing home staff to gently lower each resident into the water and lift them back up, so they may experience the sacred cleansing and symbolic rebirth that baptism represents.
For many of these residents, this may be their last opportunity in this life to fulfill this important act of faith. Each week they gather eagerly to hear the Gospel, to worship, and to pray — and they continually lift up their hope to be baptized one day. With your help, this hope can become reality.
The Word of God tells us:
“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins…” — Acts 2:38
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17
Baptism is not just a ritual — it is an outward sign of an inward grace. It is a beautiful testament to the cleansing power of Jesus’ sacrifice and a symbol of rising to new life. For our elderly brothers and sisters who have endured long years, this simple act means profound spiritual peace and the joy of obedience to the Lord’s command.
We ask you to prayerfully consider contributing to this fundraiser. Every dollar brings us closer to making this holy wish come true for these seniors who have given so much love and kindness to others throughout their lives. Many of them have no family nearby, and these precious souls have often described my weekly visits as their spiritual lifeline.
Let us join together as the Body of Christ to bless them in their final season of life with this sacred gift.
Please donate whatever you can — no amount is too small.
Please share this fundraiser with your church, family, and friends.
Please keep Minister Parker and these residents in your prayers.
May the Lord bless you abundantly for your compassion and generosity. Together, we can help our elders step into the waters of baptism, just as Jesus commanded, and rejoice with the angels at the public testimony of their faith.
Thank you for being part of this beautiful mission of love and obedience.
May God Abundantly Bless You,
Minister Terry Parker
