Hello, my name is Phoemela Kim Perez, and I am reaching out on behalf of my beloved grandfather, Rogelio Comia Perez. He is 84 years old, a devoted husband, a proud father to three children, and the most loving grandfather to his five grandchildren, including myself. To our family, he is not only a grandparent—he is the heart and soul of our lives. He has always been the kind of man who puts family first, the one who teaches us patience, faith, and resilience, and the one who never fails to make us feel loved and cared for.

Right now, my grandfather is facing one of the most difficult battles of his life. He has been in the hospital in the Philippines for over a week, and we still don’t know when he will be able to come home. He is bravely fighting high-risk pneumonia, bacteria in his blood, and severe hemorrhoids, all of which require constant and specialized medical care. Each day is filled with uncertainty, but we continue to pray and hold on to hope that he will overcome this with the right treatment and with the love and support of those around him.

Unfortunately, as the days pass, the hospital bills continue to grow heavier and heavier. Healthcare costs in the Philippines are extremely high, and our family’s resources are not enough to keep up with the mounting expenses. Every extra day he spends in the hospital brings new financial strain, and without help, we may be forced to transfer him to another hospital that cannot provide the same level of care he urgently needs. This is something we want to avoid at all costs, as proper treatment is crucial for his recovery.

My grandfather has spent his entire life caring for his family and working hard to give his children and grandchildren a better future. He has always been a man of humility and quiet strength—never asking for anything in return. Now, for the first time, he is the one in need, and it breaks our hearts to see him in this condition. We want nothing more than to give him the chance to heal and to be able to spend more time with the family who loves him so deeply.
