Help Our Beloved Kappa Sigma Chapter at SJSU

Our beloved Theta Iota chapter needs your help with a financial donation. There will be an Alumni Fundraiser Fall event on Saturday Oct. 30 at (Location: 168 S. 11th St, San Jose) to help celebrate the recovery.

 

Over the last several years the chapter has fallen on hard times starting several years ago due to social and grade infractions with San Jose State University and with the National head quarters. Then after a membership review and getting their feet under them Covid hit and impacted the chapter’s rush and brotherhood. Now the chapter has turned the corner this semester by making grades, having a solid Fall rush for the first time in a year, and over 20 alumni have stepped up to help as advisors giving their time, support and knowledge to the young men moving forward. This young Executive committee needs our support and that in turn will help the health of the Housing Corporation that supports these young men.

 

Due to all these troubles they have an outstanding balance with the National chapter mostly for back dues. The chapter couldn’t pay due to their membership issues and members who are not longer participating were not paying the chapter.

 

Now the chapter has until Friday October 29 to pay off their balance of $7,000 with the National chapter.

The goal of raising $10,000 to help pay off the balance owed to the National chapter, replace some of the funds of the Housing Corporation and provide funds for the Alumni Fundraiser event to be held on Saturday October 30 when we can celebrate paying off the balance and show our support of the active brothers, the newly crossed fall pledge class.
